SUPPORT

All projects need support. This comes from many directions and in various ways. Support validates what we do. This page highlights and acknowledges the help I have received for The Hessle Roaders project.
(1) Corporate Support: Space does not allow for the depth of detail of the support given, but where an organisation is involved, their icon has a direct link to their website.
(2) Public Support / Feedback: I have included information about the three successful exhibitions I held during the Hull 2017 City of Culture events. At some of these, visitors' comments were obtained at the venue. Future exhibitions will be added as the years roll by.

FEEDBACK from The Hull History Centre
(May - June 2017).

Sir Andrew Motion

(former Poet Laureate) told me:

"Your images look as if there was

no photographer present".

This was wonderful feedback.

That has always been my aim,

since the start of my Hessle Road

Project, back in the early 1970s.

  • The Hessle Roaders – a brilliant exhibition of amazing photographs. An awesome insight – a nostalgic two hours spent back in time. I was born 1951, my spouse 1946. Loved it.

  • With not being from Hull, it was very interesting on seeing how a fishing community got on so well, the children playing without electric gadgets as they do today. There was no feedback system possible at my
Hull Truck Theatre exhibition (27 October - 18 November); but the staff said that it had been a very popular and well-received show.
A selection of only twenty-four my 'Hessle Roader' prints were displayed at Hull Truck whilst the play 'The Last  Testament of Lillian Bilocca' by Maxine Peake was performed at the Hull Guildhall during
3 - 18 November 2017 as part of The Hull City of Culture celebrations.
